Steps to Enable SCM AI Agent
1. Set Required Profile Values
In the Setup and Maintenance work area, navigate to the Manage Administrator Profile Values task and configure the following profile options by setting them to Y:

Enable VBCS Progressive Web Application User Interface (
ORA_HCM_VBCS_PWA_ENABLED
): Set at site level -
Redwood Guided Journey Setup Page Enabled (
ORA_PER_GUIDED_JOURNEYS_SETUP_REDWOOD_ENABLED
): Set at site or user level -
Agent Task Type Enabled for Guided Journeys (
ORA_PER_AGENT_TASK_TYPE_GUIDED_JOURNEYS_ENABLED
): Set at site or user level
Also ensure the following profile options for Guided Journeys in Redwood UI are enabled (set to Y at site level):

Journeys UI Enabled (
ORA_PER_JOURNEYS_ENABLED
) -
Enable Guided Journeys (
ORA_PER_GUIDED_JOURNEYS_ENABLED
)
2. Access Configure HCM Agents
From the Home page:
-
Select My Client Groups
-
Click Show More quick actions
-
Under the Tools section, choose Configure HCM Agents
3. Create a New Tool
-
Go to the Tools tab and click Add
-
In the New Documents Tool page, select Add under the Documents section to attach documents
-
After adding all necessary documents, click the Add button at the page level
-
In the Tools list, click Edit Tool next to the tool you created
-
Each document will initially show as Draft; edit them and set their status to Ready to publish
4. Run the Scheduled Process

Go to the Scheduled Processes area and start a new job:
-
Run Process Agent Documents to ingest your tool documents
-

Navigate again to Configure HCM Agents > Tools
-
Open your tool and verify that document statuses now appear as Published
-
Click Cancel to return to the tools list
5. Create and Link an Agent

In the Agents tab, click Add
-
In the New Agent page, click Add under the Tools section
-
Select your tool and save it
-
Click the page-level Add to finalize agent creation
6. Create the Guided Journey
-
In Setup and Maintenance, search for the Guided Journeys task under:
-
Offering: Any SCM or Procurement offering
-
Functional Area: Application Extensions
-
Task: Guided Journeys
-
-
Click Create and select your method
-
For a new journey, enter a name to auto-generate a code (note this code for later)
-
Click Create Draft
-
Under Tasks, click Add
-
Choose Task Type = Agent
-
Choose Configuration = the agent you created
-
-
Click Save, then Activate
7. Embed the Journey in a Page

Go to the target page where the journey will appear
-
In the Settings and Actions menu, choose Edit Page in Visual Builder Studio
-
Open or create a project and make sure you're in Express mode
-
In the Page Properties panel, enter your guided journey code into the designated field
-
Switch to Live view to test your agent’s functionality
-
Click Publish to make the changes live
